Introduction to coffee and home brewing.
Course content:
-Coffee terminology
-Understanding fundamentals of brewing
-Brewing methods (Aeropress, Chemex, Siphon and v60 -Basics of espresso (Grind, Tamp and flow)
-Basic milk texturing.
Duration: 5 hours
Cost : R1200 (Includes a free 250gr bag of coffee)
PROFESSIONAL BARISTA
Extensive Barista Course
Course content:
-Coffee terminology
-How green coffee affects brew outcome
-Understanding fundamentals of brewing
-In depth manual brewing (Aeropress, Chemex, Siphon, V60) -Overview of Equipment
-How to calibrate the perfect espresso shot (grind size, tamp, distribution, flow and dosage)
-Creating perfectly textured milk
-Introduction to latté art
-Espresso based beverages
-Equipment care and maintenance.

HOME COFFEE ROASTER
Overview of the roasting process for a beginner/home roaster (on-site consultations for new roasteries also available upon request)
Course content:
– Green bean overview
– Introduction to the fundamentals of the roasting process.
– Introduction to tracking and using roast data ( reading roast curves, tracking temperatures, using sight, sound and smell )
– Planning a roast and profiling new coffees.
– Identifying Roast defects
Duration: 3 days

COFFEE APPRECIATION
-Tasting and comparing different brew methods
-Tasting and comparing different origins of coffee
-Course can be customized to fit your interests
